Review days of the week
The teacher started the class saying “Good evening. How are you?” Students answered “Fine and you?” The teacher said “Fine thanks.”
Then, she asked “How was your weekend?”
Some of the students participated by answering mentioning their experiences during the last weekend. The teacher asked me to help her to interview students about their weekend. But, there was one student, a girl who answered too soft. I asked her to speak louder; so, everyone could listen to her. But, she said that she did not want to answer because she did not want her classmates laughed of her. So, I decided to leave her and I continue with the rest of the class. They participated with enthusiasm.
The teacher wrote the date on the board “Today is Monday February 27th, 2012.”
Next, the teacher wrote on the board some examples of things that mark a day as favorite for each one. Later, she asked students to write on their notebooks what was their favorite day and why. After a couple of minutes, they have to read it aloud in front of their classmates. The idea is that they listened the days of the week as much as possible and be familiar with how they are pronounced.
The class development went by without any problem. There was a chance to talk to the student that did not want to participate and I tried to convince her; but, I could not. The teacher spoke to her too; but, neither could she. At the end, the teacher said goodbye to students “See you tomorrow!”
